When I ordered this book for my classroom library, I didn't really know what it was about。 When I found another copy of this book at my mom's house, I still didn't know what it was about。 But now that I've read it, I know and it's beautiful。 Simply the most inspirational and useful book I've read。 I hope others will read it, get inspired, and live a life that matches the plan that God has for their life。As the one-sentence pitch on the front cover says: "Read this book and change your life!" As you may well know, this book has heavy Christian theme with a heavy emphasis on prayer。 This may be perfect for some readers and others like me, not so much。 This book was recommended to me by an hyper successful businessman and mentor of mine。 Funny enough, I’ve had it for many years collecting dust on my bookshelf, but always thought the title was cheesy and unattractive。 But when someone leaps and bounds ahead of you on a similar path tells you to read something, that’s what you do。 It’s c As you may well know, this book has heavy Christian theme with a heavy emphasis on prayer。 This may be perfect for some readers and others like me, not so much。 This book was recommended to me by an hyper successful businessman and mentor of mine。 Funny enough, I’ve had it for many years collecting dust on my bookshelf, but always thought the title was cheesy and unattractive。 But when someone leaps and bounds ahead of you on a similar path tells you to read something, that’s what you do。 It’s clear to me that this book is not for everyone。 But for the spiritual minded person, regardless of faith, it may be worth while to read on。 Peale gives you plenty of faith based practices and mental exercise to develop a positive outlook on the world, no matter what your situation may currently be。 It’s clear to me that a lot of these exercises are useful in decluttering the mind, discarding old beliefs that don’t serve and or hurt you and replacing them with new positions that do serve you, and strengthening your faith in God (however that may look for you)。 Being such a short book, I’d say it’s worth the read。 Nothing here is groundbreaking, but it does give you a handful of practical tools to put into practice immediately 。。。more

A great book about positivity。 However, almost all principles in this book is based on Christianity teaching。 I don't find this bothering me, even though I am not a Christian。 I suppose you can read the principles and associate them with your faith, which could also be helpful。 My conclusion is that it is all about developing the right mental model。 One line that strikes me the most is "Throw your heart over the bar and your body will follow"。 In fact, using this principle has helped me to overc A great book about positivity。 However, almost all principles in this book is based on Christianity teaching。 I don't find this bothering me, even though I am not a Christian。 I suppose you can read the principles and associate them with your faith, which could also be helpful。 My conclusion is that it is all about developing the right mental model。 One line that strikes me the most is "Throw your heart over the bar and your body will follow"。 In fact, using this principle has helped me to overcome a few challenges at work and in life。 So, I am pleased I picked up this book from a book donation self and probably will keep revisiting some of the principles! 。。。more

This was a very relaxing and nice read。 I wish I could understand why so many reviews are triggered。 Yes, the author is Christian。 I myself didnt know this when opening the book。 Yes, he mentions the bible, jesus and the church here and there。 And no, you dont have to be a christian to like this book。 I am not, yet I learned alot from the lessons taught in this book。 Sure, there were paragraphs here and there I skipped because they dont appeal to my religious believes but the overall idea is sti This was a very relaxing and nice read。 I wish I could understand why so many reviews are triggered。 Yes, the author is Christian。 I myself didnt know this when opening the book。 Yes, he mentions the bible, jesus and the church here and there。 And no, you dont have to be a christian to like this book。 I am not, yet I learned alot from the lessons taught in this book。 Sure, there were paragraphs here and there I skipped because they dont appeal to my religious believes but the overall idea is still the same。 And before you wonder, no, not everything is backed up by god in a way。 Some of the lessons in this book are overall knowledge such as how th appeal yourself to people and not be disliked。 These are taught without the overly god influence I can imagine a lot dont want。 (The joke gets even better when the reviewers who get triggered by this are Atheist。 Just mad because their personal believes are hurt)。 While I wouldnt want to go out my way to pick up a book from this author again, I wouldnt fight it if faced with it。 Overall, I do recommend this book to anyone who wants to personal improve in (some) aspects of themselves regardless of their religious believes, as all these ideas can be translated into ones own religion (which is easier for Abrahamic religions, as I noticed that some Bible verses here are similiar to certain Quran verses。) 。。。more

Stopped reading after I had read almost the quarter of it。 The text is quite redundant which makes it boring。

I found this in our attic as I was looking for books to read。 Although this one took me a while to read, I still find it insightful and filled with wisdom。 It was a better read than "you're not enough (and that's okay)'。 The book provided practical ways on how I can apply the concepts presented- [ ] say I believe 3x in the morning- [ ] leave your problems to God- [ ] remember the verse: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me; and If God is for me, then who can go against me?I also I found this in our attic as I was looking for books to read。 Although this one took me a while to read, I still find it insightful and filled with wisdom。 It was a better read than "you're not enough (and that's okay)'。 The book provided practical ways on how I can apply the concepts presented- [ ] say I believe 3x in the morning- [ ] leave your problems to God- [ ] remember the verse: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me; and If God is for me, then who can go against me?I also loved the fact that the author wrote a letter to the readers in the last page of the book。 I don't think I encountered something like that before。 He said。"We may never meet in person, but in this book we have met。 We are spiritual friends。 I pray for you。 God will help you—so believe and live successfully。"That was so kind of him! It's a very inspiring book full of wisdom。 You do not necessarily need to be religious to believe in the power of positive thinking。 The provided stories motivate me to duplicate some experiences of this book's heroes。 Recommend it for sure! Not what I was expecting。 This book is fine as a religion/spirituality one, but shouldn’t be classified under Psychology or Philosophy by any means! A lot of preaching, and No Science!!

This book made me so upset, I tried to read it with an open mind but I couldn’t stand the fact that the title doesn’t tell anything about the book。 Everytime the author gives a solution it’s either about reading bible affirmations or going to the church。Dnf。

Being an Atheist it was tough task to complete this book。 There was time when I felt like leaving it half way but I follow a simple principle that is 'to complete what you have started', so I had to finish it。 I would give 3。5 to this book, reason being the reference of God in each and every sentence。 I would totally recommend it to anybody who believes in God and has a pessimistic approach towards life because the writer did talk about positive thinking and optimistic lifestyle which is very he Being an Atheist it was tough task to complete this book。 There was time when I felt like leaving it half way but I follow a simple principle that is 'to complete what you have started', so I had to finish it。 I would give 3。5 to this book, reason being the reference of God in each and every sentence。 I would totally recommend it to anybody who believes in God and has a pessimistic approach towards life because the writer did talk about positive thinking and optimistic lifestyle which is very helpful however, I feel you don't need to worship God or to believe in god to have a positive attitude about life, you can do that by simply believing in yourself。 It's all in your mind。 。。。more

What a misleading title。 Know before you get started- this is a Christian/religious self help book。 Had I realized this before starting it, I wouldn't have even bothered。 I still read the first half of this book giving it chance after chance, but ultimately just started reading the first page or two of a chapter and then skipping to the next。 Until I ultimately threw the book across the room, glad to be done with it。 Skip this and just read your Bible What a misleading title。 Know before you get started- this is a Christian/religious self help book。 Had I realized this before starting it, I wouldn't have even bothered。 I still read the first half of this book giving it chance after chance, but ultimately just started reading the first page or two of a chapter and then skipping to the next。 Until I ultimately threw the book across the room, glad to be done with it。 Skip this and just read your Bible 。。。more

What are the main ideas? Power of positive thinking。 There are so many studies that validate this behavior now。 Dr。 Peale knew it and wrote it down 80 years ago。 AMAZING。If I implemented one idea from this book right now, which one would it be? I can be self deprecating。 STOP and exude my confidence and let the world know that I am on a run for happiness…and bringing that energy out。How would I describe the book to a friend? Must read…mental model for a successful life。 My opinion: Love it。 Must What are the main ideas? I resonate with the author's thought process but could not relate to numerous Bible references。 This book at times seems one sided towards Christianity and not god in general。 Being an Hindu, I could not relate to the depth of it。 We need more such books from Hindu perspective。 I resonate with the author's thought process but could not relate to numerous Bible references。 This book at times seems one sided towards Christianity and not god in general。 Being an Hindu, I could not relate to the depth of it。 We need more such books from Hindu perspective。 。。。more

A good book based around the concept of visualizing positive outcomes and making them your reality。 Each chapter, or at least most of the chapters and with a numbered list of suggestions that summarize the chapter。 I can see myself going back and reviewing the chapter titles and those lists at the end。 A worthwhile read。
